Thumper – A beat of her own.
“Thumper” is a fictional narrative that attempts to show a realistic relationship between instructor-parent and student-child. The story’s protagonist, Jenna, is the 8-year-old daughter of Nadia, a single Russian-American mother. Nadia is also Jenna’s ballet instructor. While Jenna is still curiously seeking out what is subjectively fun to her, to Nadia dance is life.
Written, Directed, & Edited by Jack Winemiller
Starring Ariel Asatryan & Ana da Costa
Cinematography by Matthew Radican
Production Design by Lizzete Flores
Produced by Sonder Eyes & Rocha World Films

Uprooted (2012)
An Israeli-Palestinian Love Story
On July 31, 2003 the state of Israel passed the “Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law” preventing Israelis from marrying Arab Palestinians. Israel has effectively continued to implement apartheid policies discriminating against Palestinians- building walls of segregation and Jewish settlements on Palestinian land. To do this, the state of Israel has uprooted thousands of Palestinian olive trees every year and destroyed Palestinian homes to build illegal housing for Jewish settlers. Olive trees are a primary source of income for Palestinians. They are a symbol of peace and of the Palestinian struggle.
On 11/29/12, the day before this film was shot, 138 countries recognized Palestine as a state. The United States is one out of only 9 countries that voted against it. The day after this film was shot, Israel approved a plan to build, 3,000 more illegal settlements to avenge Palestine’s statehood. This plan would split the West Bank in half: more trees are to be uprooted, more Palestinian houses to be destroyed and bigger refugee camps.
Written, Directed, & Edited by Nadir Bouhmouch
Starring Ghadir Mounib & Khashayar Behmardi
Cinematography by C.J. Capes
